PHOTO CLIQUE

When: Sunday, 9 to 10 a.m.

What: Join naturalist Nick Parish as he guides a members-only walk through the much-loved bird sanctuary.

Where: Mill Creek Wildlife Sanctuary, 2650 W. Calla Road, Canfield.

GROWING STRAWBERRIES

When: Monday, 9:30 a.m. to noon

What: Come harvest some knowledge over strawberries with our master gardeners right before their peak season, which, in Ohio, is usually June 1-10.

WILDFLOWER WORKOUT

When: Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m.

What: Join naturalist Arika Preas to explore Vickers Nature Preserve in search of seasonal beauties in this series of programs designed for women of all ages. Don’t forget your boots as it may be muddy.

BOTANICAL MORNINGS

What: Discover the progress of the seasons at Mill Creek Park’s Fellows Riverside Gardens.

Where: Fellows Riverside Gardens, 123 McKinley Ave., Youngstown.

BONSAI

When: Wednesday, 6 p.m.

What: Trumbull County Master Gardener Volunteer’s 2019 Free Garden Programs-Bonsai. Bonsai is an Asian art form using cultivation techniques to produce small trees in containers that mimic the shape and scale of full-size trees.

Where: OSU Extension, 520 W. Main St., Suite 1, Cortland.

Cost: Free. Participants should bring a lawn chair.

HYDRANGEA SCHOOL

When: June 12, 6 to 8 p.m.

What: Join Eric Barrett, OSU Extension director and assistant professor, to discover the world of hydrangeas. Learn about types, care, pruning and bloom times. You’ll receive a quick reference chart to take to the garden center when you make a purchase. Everyone gets a hydrangea plant to take home.
