The Austintown plasma donation center, Biotest, recently made changes to make the donation process easier.

The center is located in the Austintown Plaza at 6000 Mahoning Ave., behind the Buffalo Wild Wings.

The company recently underwent changes, converting all centers to paperless just this year. Dan Gamache, Director of Plasma Marketing Operations, said that nationally Biotest has 26 centers.

“Source plasma donations and blood donations are critically important activities that contribute to saving lives,” Gamache said. “For many with rare diseases, these are the only therapies available to treat their chronic conditions.”

Gamache said that this change will not only help the environment, but will stream line the donation process, helping both donors and Biotest employees.
