Liberty resident Scott Davis was recently elected and took the oath of office as secretary of the Ohio Society Sons of the American Revolution at the 130th annual meeting at the Airport Marriott in Columbus. Davis also serves as the chapter secretary for the Mahoning Valley Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution.

Library to host live music program

SRMC Auxiliary to host summer raffle

SALEM

Salem Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is announcing its summer raffle that will take place from Monday through Sept. 11. Tickets will be available for $1 each or six for $5 at SRMC’s Look Nook Gift Shop, 1995 E. State St.

Auxiliary members also will sell tickets in the SRMC cafeteria from 8 to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. May 20 through 24 and Aug. 29 through 30; and at Salem Giant Eagle from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 14, July 12 and Aug. 16. Winner will be drawn Sept. 12 at the auxiliary’s monthly meeting.

The prize is a backyard barbecue party for up to 10 people provided by Boneshakers of Salem. The package includes ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, au gratin potatoes, coleslaw, baked beans and dessert. For information, call 330-337-2883. Raffle proceeds benefit patient care and comfort at SRMC.

Sedona discussion

The Great Conjunction Spiritual Center will sponsor a discussion on Sedona at Cornelius Studios, 1931 Belmont Ave., at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Kathy Evans-Palmisano will share photos and her personal experiences in Sedona over the past 14 years. She will discuss the energetic qualities of the red rock formations as well as lead a brief guided meditation to replicate some of the vortex energies. The event is open to the public. Library to host science program May 23

Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will host “Science Live! The Science of Magic” at 6:30 p.m. May 23. The program will be presented by Don Harrington Discovery Center (Amarillo). Attendees will witness tricks such as disappearing objects, a bed of nails and uncover the science behind the magic. InQlusion Con planned

C and B Enterprises will host the city’s first LGBTQ-themed pop culture fest, InQlusion Con, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. May 25 at the Jewish Community Center, 505 Gypsy Lane.

The purpose of the event is to provide an LGBTQ point of view for all things horror, sci-fi and comic books. This is a family event that will include panels, vendors, special guests and a cosplay contest with prizes. Special guest will be Naomi Grossman, who is known for her portrayal of Pepper on the FX series “American Horror Story.”

Cost is $10 per person and $5 for children under 12. There will be an after party at Club Switch that will feature an “American Horror Story”-themed show. For information, visit www.inqlusion.org.

Kiwanis to host parade May 27

BOARDMAN

The Boardman Kiwanis will host its 115th Memorial Day Parade and Service on May 27. Groups participating in the parade will assemble at 9:30 a.m. at Boardman Center Intermediate School, 7410 Market St., and the parade will begin at 10. The parade follows Market Street to Boardman-Poland Road and then to Boardman Park.

Lt. Col. Christopher Dobozy, command inspector general of the 352nd Civil Affairs Command in Fort Meade, Md., and Bronze Star recipient, will be the Grand Marshall and special speaker.
