Youngstown hires new police officer, promotes another

YOUNGSTOWN — Police officials today swore in a new officer and promoted another.

Amir Khan, 22, was sworn in as a new officer. He previously worked part time for the Goshen, Mill Creek and Mercy Health police departments.

Promoted to lieutenant from detective sergeant was Bill Ward, who has been an officer since 2000 and a sergeant since 2013.
