Boardman-Glenwood Middle School, 7635 Glenwood Ave., will be the site of the iCAN Shine Bike Camp that will take place June 10-14. The camp uses adaptive bicycles, specialized instructional programs and trained staff to enable individuals with a disability to learn to ride a conventional bike. Riders attend one 75-minute session each day for five days. Cost for members of the Down Syndrome Association of the Mahoning Valley is $50, and the fee is $75 for nonmembers. Columbiana Area Tourism Bureau will host the 2019 Columbiana Wine Festival from 4 to 9 p.m. July 19 and from 2 to 9 p.m. July 20 in the Town Center at Firestone Farms, 101 Town Center Ave. The $1 each water and pop sales will benefit the Community Hospice. All About The Pawz, a dog rescue which pulls dogs from the Trumbull County pound and helps the pound with its veterinary fund, will host its “Going to the Dogs VI” fundraiser at First Presbyterian Church of Niles, 4 Summit Ave., on the corner of Robbins Avenue, Thursday. The event will feature a quarter ticket raffle. Doors open at 5 p.m. for guests to view the prizes and visit the vendors; the raffle starts at 6. There will be more than 80 prizes, gift baskets and door prizes. Raffle tickets, which will be sold by the sheet, will cost approximately one quarter each. No quarter coins are necessary. Girard Multi-Generational Center’s annual fundraiser “Cars are the Stars 5” will include two special raffles this year. Winners will be announced the day of the show, June 1 (rain date, June 8). Available plants include annuals from River’s Bend (geraniums, gerbera daisies, succulents, begonia and petunias) as well as perennials from Copeland Oaks residents’ gardens. These include hostas, bleeding hearts, shasta daisies and iris. Although Copeland Oaks provides the space for the library and the Friends of the Library provides some funds, this volunteer organization relies on the plant, book and bake sale as its main source of operating income. The purpose of this event is bring the community together to highlight the collaboration of agencies and resources with the goal of promoting healthier and happier families, There will be music, dance, poetry and more.
