Investigation continues in Warren bar shooting; no arrests made
WARREN — A police report says three male bar patrons 67, 42 and 55 years of age, suffered apparent minor injuries when a person, possibly in a white or light-colored pickup truck, fired a gun into the front of the University At Larchmont tavern, 1706 Larchmont Ave.. N.E., at 9:45 p.m. Friday.
The report, released this morning by Warren police, says the person fired from the street in front of the tavern. Bullet holes were apparent in the front of the building this morning. A piece of plywood covered the spot where the front door should be.
"The projectiles entered the bar through the front of the bar, striking three bar patrons," the report says. All three men were transported to the hospital. The tavern's Facebook page says all three were later released from the hospital.
No one has apparently been arrested in the case. No one was booked into the Trumbull County jail since Friday evening on charges that would suggest they were being held on charges related to a shooting.
The Facebook post, from "Rick and Mike," who are apparently the operators of the tavern and restaurant, says they thank their staff "for their actions to keep everyone safe and our customers who helped others during this unfortunate incident." The post also thanks safety forces and others "for all of their prompt and professional actions."
It added, "Unfortunately this random act of violence has shaken many of us to the core. Our main concern is for everyone involved that they are safe." The post says the business will reopen today.
