Albert Pujols homered twice to increase his total to 641, had three RBIs and scored three runs to help the Los Angeles Angels beat the Baltimore Orioles. Shohei Ohtani had two hits and an RBI for Los Angeles in his fifth game this season. Pujols hit a two-run drive in the first inning and a solo shot in the fourth.
White Sox 7, Blue Jays 2
TORONTO
Marcus Stroman was angry when removed from yet another start when he received little run support, and the Toronto Blue Jays lost to the Chicago White Sox and Ivan Nova. Stroman (1-6) exchanged words with manager Charlie Montoyo and pitching coach Pete Walker after he was replaced by Derek Law with runners at the corners in the seventh. James McCann matched his career-high with four hits. Blue Jays rookie Vladimir Guerrero Jr. went 2 for 2 with two walks in his first multihit game.
Tigers 5, Twins 3, first game
MINNEAPOLIS
John Hicks hit a tiebreaking homer in the ninth inning, Ronny Rodriguez went deep twice and the Detroit Tigers beat the Minnesota Twins in the opener of a doubleheader. Brandon Dixon also homered for the Tigers. Shane Greene pitched a scoreless ninth to earn his AL-leading 14th save.
Red Sox 9, Mariners 5
BOSTON
Sandy Leon fouled off an bunt attempt, then hit a three-run homer to cap an eight-run third inning that carried the surging Boston Red Sox over the struggling Seattle Mariners. Mitch Moreland started Boston’s comeback from a 4-0 deficit against Felix Hernandez (1-4) with a solo homer. The World Series champions won for the 15th time in 21 games following a 6-13 start.
Rays 7, Yankees 2
ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.
Willy Adames and Ji-Man Choi hit run-scoring infield singles in the sixth after tempers flared during the top of the inning, and the AL East-leading Tampa Bay Rays beat the New York Yankees. Yandy Diaz homered twice and drove in four runs for the Rays.

Cubs 2, Brewers 1, 15 innings
CHICAGO
Willson Contreras homered in the 15th inning to give the Chicago Cubs a victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Contreras turned on a 1-2 pitch from Burch Smith (0-1), sending a long shot to left field that gave Chicago its 11th win in 13 games. Tyler Chatwood (2-0) struck out seven in four innings to cap a strong effort by the bullpen after Cole Hamels worked seven solid innings.
