“U.S. News & World Report” ranked more than 17,000 schools this year and Canfield High School is ranked 41st in Ohio, out of 916 high schools. Canfield is 18th in northeastern Ohio. The rankings are calculated differently than state success standards. The high school rankings are based on six factors, each weighted: college readiness, using participation and performance on AP and IB tests, 30 percent; reading and math proficiency, 20 percent; reading and math performance, 20 percent; underserved student performance, 10 percent; college curriculum breadth, 10 percent and graduation rate, 10 percent. All ranking data is compiled from “U.S. News & World Report” and is from the most recent Ohio School Report Card. On the 2017-18 State Report Card, the Canfield Local School District was the highest in the tri-county area for performance index, scoring 104.3. The Performance Index measures the test results of every student at their own ability level. The report card also measures financial data.
