UPDATE | Fingerprints to be used in ID of train fatality

NEWTON TOWNSHIP

The Trumbull County Coroner's Office will be using fingerprints to make a positive identification of the woman killed on railroad tracks in the area of Newton Falls Bailey Road and Miller Graber Road in Newton Township Wednesday night.

An autopsy will be conducted Friday, and the woman's identity is likely to be provided after that, the coroner's office said. The coroner's office believes it knows the identity of the woman, but needs to take more steps to be sure, a spokesperson said.

The Trumbull County Sheriff's Office investigated after the county 911 center received a report at 11:02 p.m. Wednesday that a pedestrian may have been struck by a train on the railroad tracks.
