Wnning pitcher Adam Wibert pitched six innings, allowing just two hits and a fourth-inning run and Zach Rhodanz pitched a scoreless seventh for a save. Wibert struck out eight. Wibert’s RBI double in the third drove in Miller. Rhodanz also had a triple for Mathews.

Nick DeGregory hit a walk-off single in the ninth to give Girard the win in extra innings. DeGregory drove in two runs total for the Indians. Thompson and J, Mejia each had a hit for East.

Emily Filicky struck out 13 and allowed only one hit as the Eagles advanced with a five-inning rout of the Cowboys. Filicky, Giavanna Hosack and Kailah Gregory each had three hits for Hubbard and Alexis Najdusack had two hits. Jordyn Juillerat drove in four runs. Hubbard will visit Cardinal Mooney in a sectional final Thursday at Fields of Dreams in Boardman.

Both Garfield players named Hannah Smith hit home runs as the G-Men crushed the Lakers in a sectional semifinal. Senior Smith homered twice and drove in five runs and the G-Men blew open a 1-0 game with 15 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to win big. Sophomore Hannah Smith also homered and had two singles and two RBIs. Sommer Bourne added a single, double and four RBIS and Catarena Sommers doubled twice. Annabelle Moore and Caydence McGranahan each had two singles and Sydney Seaman had a double and two RBIs.

Ashley Wire drove a bases-loaded single off the fence to put the finishing touch on the unbeaten Bulldogs’ walk-off victory. Wire’s bases-loaded hit drove in Rachel Wolfe with the winning run as Poland (22-0, 13-0 Northeast 8) snapped a 2-2 tie against LaBrae (19-5). Ashley Farber went 3 for 3 and Wire went 2 for 3 for the Bulldogs. Wire improved to 14-0 with the victory. She scattered five hits and struck out three to outduel the Vikings’ Alexa Goerdan, who struck out six and allowed nine hits. Natalie Sisler had two hits for LaBrae.

Jordan Anderson pitched a no-hitter and Grace Heath went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs for the Warriors. Delaney Rito had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI and Sydney Mercer doubled and drove in a run for West Branch.
