Jake Miller’s bases-loaded triple highlighted a four-run third inning as the Mustangs (16-2) beat the Vikings. Wnning pitcher Adam Wibert pitched six innings, allowing just two hits and a fourth-inning run and Zach Rhodanz pitched a scoreless seventh for a save. Wibert struck out eight. Wibert’s RBI double in the third drove in Miller. Rhodanz also had a triple for Mathews.

West Branch 6, Ursuline 3

BELOIT

Cole Bates doubled and drove in three runs and the Warriors (16-9) erased a 3-2 deficit with four in the bottom of the sixth to beat the Irish (11-12). Josh Meissner added an RBI double for West Branch. Winning pitcher David Cunningham (8-3) went six innings, allowed four hits and struck out four. Mason Walker pitched a perfect seventh for a save. Glenn Griswold went 52/3 innings for Ursuline. He allowed three hits and struck out four. Joel Kreuzwieser singled, doubled and drove in a run and Brady Shannon had an RBI double for the Irish.

Trey Giannini pitched 41/3 innings scoreless innings, scattered three hits and earned the win for the Falcons (17-7). TJ Piroch went 2 for 2 with two RBIs for Fitch.

Ty Ventresco and Mike Fetsko each collected two RBIs and Cam Kreps added a solo home run for Boardman (12-12). Mason Smith scattered six hits through 52/3 innings, striking out two and walking four.

Dan Windham went 3 for 4 with a double and scored three runs and Brycen Jackson had two hits for the Blue Devils (14-7, 9-5 Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference). Jake Pappagallo doubled and Ryan Slaven singled, walked and drove in two runs for Western Reserve. Caleb Quinn (4-0) went six innings and struck out six for the victory. Cody Wise worked a scoreless seventh. Mason Robison had two hits for the Blue Jays and Frankie Prozy drove in Jackson-Milton’s only run.

Shane Eynon and Chris Thompson combined on a two-hitter for the Tigers, who are now 13-0 in the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference. Clayton Nezbeth, Mitchell Seymour, Drew Clark and Nick Slike all had multiple hits for Springfield. Clark and Jarrett Orbin each drove in two runs. Dylan Durkin and Matt Hvisdak had the Rockets’ hits.

EAST FAIRFIELD

Ian Merkel, Gage Tomko, Luca Massucci, Josh McCleery and Braden Gebhardt each had two hits for the Tigers, who scored six runs in the top of the second inning. Gebhardt was the winning pitcher for Howland. Tyler Hurd drove in all four runs and Isaac Ricketts singled and doubled for the Rebels (12-8).

Jake Carfalo had three hits and Dakota Edwards had two for the Rams. Kyle Bickerstaff pitched a complete game for the win for Mineral Ridge. Matt DeAngelis and Gavin English each had two hits for the Vikings.

EAST PALESTINE

Brock Cheurco, Cooper Vance and Cameron Wischerman each had three hits as the Bulldogs (14-7-1, 8-5-1 Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference) beat the Potters. Cheurco had a double and an inside-the-park home run and Vance doubled twice. Sean Helpy pitched 32/3 innings and struck out two for the victory. Corey Weyand, Kamren Klakos, Devin Toothman and Logan Bennett each had two hits for East Liverpool.

LIBERTY

Trevor Strohmeyer struck out six in five innings and allowed two earned runs and also had two hits himself as the Leopards (6-16, 6-6 All-American Conference Blue Tier) beat the Red Devils. Shane McKelvey, Zach Coman and Jake Scoville each had two hits for Liberty. Miguel Torres led Campbell with four hits, including three doubles.

Logan Shields threw a complete game shutout, allowing just one hit for McDonald. Shields struck out two. At the plate, Shields had a pair of hits and drove in two runs. Zach Nolf drove in three runs on three hits for the Bule Devils and Ryan Scala added two RBI.

CANFIELD

Brent Herrmann went the distance for Canfield, allowing five hits and giving up just one run. Herrmann struck out seven to lead the Cardinals defensive effort. Brayden Beck had two hits to lead the offense. Jamie Perebzak and Jacob Armsey had multiple hits for Walsh Jesuit.

POLAND

Braeden O’Shaughnessy led Poland with two hitd and two RBIs. MJ Farber added two hits, including a triple and two RBIs for the Bulldogs. Alex Barth also brought home two runs. Robert Tomko had two hits, including a double, for Struthers.

Girard 4, Lakeview 3

GIRARD

Nick DeGregory hit a walk-off single in the ninth to give Girard the win in extra innings. DeGregory drove in two runs total for the Indians. Ausitn Claussell drove in a run and had two hits for Girard. Jake Wilms had two hits and two RBIs to lead Lakeview. Gabe Senkowitz also had two hits for the Bulldogs.

LISBON

Josh Entrikin drove in the tying run in the bottom of the seventh for Lisbon (10-12-1). Entrikin had two hits and drove in two. Justin Sweeney added two hits and Nick Mundy had two hits for Lisbon. Connor Ramsey and Derrick Suggs had two hits each for Wellsville (6-7-1).

Lane Rhodes threw a complete game shutout, striking out seven for Salem (11-11). Joey Watson had a two run double to lead the Quakers offense. Rhodes had two doubles and an RBI.

SALEM

Taylor Thorpe went 3 for 3 with a triple and struck out seven in four innings for the Quakers, whose 14th victory tied a single-season school record. Hayden Carner, Meg Rossero, Bailee Thorn, Elly Exline and Jessica Slocum eah had two hits a piece for Salem, which advanced to visit West Branch in a sectional final on Thursday.

STRUTHERS

Mary Bayus had two hits including a grand slam and Trinity Farrar had four hits including a home run, three RBIs in the Wildcats’ sectional semifinal victory. Macie Smith had a double, triple and four RBIs for Struthers, which will visit Poland in a sectional final. Maddie Bova had three hits including a double. P. Thompson and J, Mejia each had a hit for East.

Madison Osborne, Marissa Jerina, Marissa Miller, and Halee Hall had three RBI each for Howland. Emily O’Connell added a pair of hits and two RBIs for the Tigers. Lindsay Hayes drove in two runs for Niles. Howland acdvances to take on Ursline today at 5 p.m. at YSU.

HUBBARD

Emily Filicky struck out 13 and allowed only one hit as the Eagles advanced with a five-inning rout of the Cowboys. Filicky, Giavanna Hosack and Kailah Gregory each had three hits for Hubbard and Alexis Najdusack had two hits. Jordyn Juillerat drove in four runs. Hubbard will visit Cardinal Mooney in a sectional final Thursday at Fields of Dreams in Boardman.

GARRETTSVILLE

Both Garfield players named Hannah Smith hit home runs as the G-Men crushed the Lakers in a sectional semifinal. Senior Smith homered twice and drove in five runs and the G-Men blew open a 1-0 game with 15 runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to win big. Sophomore Hannah Smith also homered and had two singles and two RBIs. Sommer Bourne added a single, double and four RBIS and Catarena Sommers doubled twice. Annabelle Moore and Caydence McGranahan each had two singles and Sydney Seaman had a double and two RBIs.

POLAND

Ashley Wire drove a bases-loaded single off the fence to put the finishing touch on the unbeaten Bulldogs’ walk-off victory. Wire’s bases-loaded hit drove in Rachel Wolfe with the winning run as Poland (22-0, 13-0 Northeast 8) snapped a 2-2 tie against LaBrae (19-5). Ashley Farber went 3 for 3 and Wire went 2 for 3 for the Bulldogs. Wire improved to 14-0 with the victory. She scattered five hits and struck out three to outduel the Vikings’ Alexa Goerdan, who struck out six and allowed nine hits. Natalie Sisler had two hits for LaBrae.

BELOIT

Jordan Anderson pitched a no-hitter and Grace Heath went 3 for 4 with a triple and two RBIs for the Warriors. Delaney Rito had two hits, including a triple, and an RBI and Sydney Mercer doubled and drove in a run for West Branch.

Cardinal Mooney 9, Springfield 3

NEW MIDDLETOWN

Caitie Perry homered , doubled, singled and drove in three runs and Conchetta Rinaldi and Gia DiFabio each had three hits for the Cardinals (19-4). CJ Sapp and Alaina Francis each added two hits for Cardinal Mooney, which pounded 7 doubles and a home run. Maddie Filisky scattered five hits in a complete-game victory. Marlie Applegarth had a two-run double for the Tigers (13-8). Cardinal Mooney hosts Hubbard in a Division II sectional final on Thursday at Fields of Dreams in Boardman and Springfield hosts Mineral Ridge in a Division III sectional final today.
