The theme will be “1970s Disco.” This will be a high/low dance with alternating tips for new dancers currently taking lessons and tips for more experienced dancers. Trumbull County Travel Club has scheduled a trip to Rapid City, S.D., for Sept. 9 -17. Cleveland is the feature of the June 19 “Let’s Explore Ohio”day trip. The Aug. 14 trip will showcase the oddities of the Canton area. The Nov. 2 outing will be a ginger bread tour in Pennsylvania. The club is open to anyone over the age of 21. There are no dues, and meetings are twice a year at various locations in the area. One does not have to be a resident of Trumbull County to travel with the club. Youngstown Area Federation of Women’s Clubs Inc. will host its annual awards luncheon at noon May 15 at Tippecanoe Country Club. This year’s recipient of the Community Service Award is Ralph “Skip” Barone, manger/operator of Our Community Kitchen in Youngstown. Also being announced will be the YAFWC’s annual $2,000 scholarship, which is awarded to a non-traditional female student in her junior year at Youngstown State University. The Club Woman of the Year award will be presented to a member who has helped the club reach its goals. Nonmembers are welcome.
