Zopp Family Circus returns

The Zopp Family Circus will return to the Canfield Fairgrounds from May 15-19 with 12 shows.

Tickets are on sale online to the general public now and will be available to purchase at the fairgrounds beginning on April 15.

“Last year the community really embraced the idea of experiencing a classic Italian circus under the big top at the fairgrounds and we are thrilled to welcome the Zopp Family back,” said Dave Dickey, Canfield Fair Board president. “It’s something truly unique and we believe this year will be even better than the last,” he added.

Founded in 1842, the Zopp Family Circus is a one-ring circus under the big top featuring acrobats, equestrian showmanship, canine tricks, clowns and plenty of audience participation. The fair and local sponsors are subsidizing the cost of tickets for youth to attend this special event and to make it more economical for the community to attend. The fair is also partnering with the Mahoning County Educational Service Center to reserve a number of shows for school-aged children.

“Last year, we were fortunate to have many members of the community step up and help us subsidize the cost of ticket prices to help more than 2,500 school-aged children attend the circus,” Dickey said.

The fair hopes to surpass those attendance numbers this year and have even more children experience this circus event as well as the rest of the general public.

Ticket prices are $6 for children 18 and under and $13 for adults. Tickets can be purchased at canfieldfair.com and at the Canfield Fairgrounds administration office beginning on April 15. Office hours can be found at canfieldfair.com.
