Scouts BSA Troop 9025, chartered to Canfield United Methodist Church, recognized scouts and adult volunteers at its recent Winter Court of Honor in the Fellowship Hall of the church.

The Winter Court of Honor recognizes scouts who have earned rank advancements, merit badges and other awards in scouting since the Fall Court of Honor.

After a dinner recognizing the 109th anniversary of the Boy Scouts of America and the 93rd anniversary of Troop 9025, everyone was welcomed by the Troop Committee Chairman John Kightlinger. who served as master of ceremonies. The Court of Honor was opened by the troop’s color guard.

Scouts recognized and their recognitions were Owen Bowser, First Aid Merit Badge; Steven Canton, Tenderfoot Award; Noah Christoff, First Class Award, Pets Merit Badge and the Bob Roberts Memorial Back Patch Award Center Patch and Summer Camp Point; Steven Deak, Citizenship in the Nation and Citizenship in the World Merit Badges and John Heino, First Aid and Personal Management Merit Badges.

A highlight of the evening was the awarding of two special Troop 9025 awards. The Troop 9025 2018 Herman West Most Active Scout Award was presented to John Heino and Cade Henry and the Troop 9025 2018 Jimmy Jones Outstanding Scout Award was presented to Steven Deak.
