The Austintown library hosted an Introduction to Cricut class on March 21.

Librarian Renee Beverly hosted the class for five community members to learn the basics of the Cricut machine and create their own account.

“It’s a lot of fun, there’s a lot to learn,” Beverly said. “If the desired design is to intricate it’s a great craft tool.”

Community members who attended the class were eligible for the more advanced Cricut class that take place later this year.

Beverly said that the class had a waiting list, but is kept small so everyone can get the chance to see the machine.

“You can do so much with a Cricut and even I am still learning,” Beverly said.

The Austintown library owns a Cricut Air Two machine that is only for use by librarians. Community members learned on the machine, but would not be able to use it after the event.

At the Michael Kusalaba library however there is a Cricut Maker that is open for public use after community member take the Maker Space class.

“It’s the same concept on both machines, and the log in information is the same so the class is universal,” Beverly said.

She explained that because there was waiting list for the class she will host another intro to Cricut event before hosting the more advanced course later in the year.
