Purple Raiders spoil Titans’ home opener


NEW WILMINGTON, Pa.

The Westminster College baseball team lost, 9-2, to the University of Mount Union in their home opener on Wednesday.

Nick Satovich had tallied four hits and drove in two runs while Coleman Stauffer (Boardman) and Nathan Duliba each had two for the Purple Raiders (12-5).

Mount Union (12-5) jumped out to a 5-0 lead with five runs in the fifth. The Purple Raiders added two more in the fourth and two in the top of the sixth and led 9-0. Junior Dante Parente got Westminster (7-6) on the board with a double to left field, scoring junior Tyler Barnot. Two batters later, Jaret Johnson (Niles) singled in Frank Cinicola.
