The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley is in need of 10 additional volunteers for the Special Bunny event that will take place from 8:30 to 11 a.m. April 7 at Eastwood Mall. Volunteers will assist special needs children with crafts and games.

Library to present desert program

SALEM

The program, “Desert Adaptations: Live from the World’s Largest Indoor Desert” will be presented in Salem Public Library’s Quaker Room at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.

For this presentation, provided by Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, participants will look inside the geodesic dome which houses the indoor desert and will search for cactus, birds, mammals, and reptiles that survive in this location that simulates a desert. A zookeeper and LIVE Animal Ambassador will be on hand.

The program is free and open to the public. Interactive video programming provides the audience an opportunity to participate more fully in the learning process. Registration is required and may be done online at www.salem.lib.oh.us or by calling 330-332-0042 for assistance.

Rebel Pride Night planned at Crestview

COLUMBIANA

It will be a celebration of learning at Crestview during Rebel Pride Night, which will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the Performing Arts Center.

Participants will have a chance to see the students show off their talents in the classroom and in music, art and STEM. There will be a press conference at 7:30 p.m. and a staff v. senior student basketball game at 7:45 p.m. in the Rebel Sports Arena.

The event, including refreshments, is free. Participants will receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win an Ipad and gift card.

The winner will be drawn during halftime. Attendees can build a CR bear for $20.
