Isabelle Kelty found the net five times to lead Canfield. Shiane Donnarummno added four goals, and Sarah Grohovsky and Emily Wilson scored two each for the Cardinals. Mara Guerrieri made sixteen saves in goal.

Xenia’s Samari Curtis named Ohio Mr. Basketball

COLUMBUS

Xenia High School senior Samari Curtis was announced as Ohio Mr. Basketball Thursday by a statewide media panel. Curtis received the award Friday night at the OHSAA boys basketball state tournament. Headed to the University of Cincinnati, the 6-foot-4 Curtis averaged 34.4 points per game this season to lead the Greater Western Ohio Conference. McDonald’s Zach Rasile was a finalist for the award. Other finalists included Davis Black (Byesville Meadowbrook), Ben Roderick (Olentangy Liberty), Devon Grant (Lorain), Bo Myers (Logan) and Brandon Haraway (Norwalk).
