Austintown Intermediate School’s Parent Teacher Association hosted its annual Family Bingo night on March 1.

PTA president Patty Ritter said this is the fourth year for the event, and the theme is Candy Crush.

“This is my favorite because it is super family oriented,” Ritter said.

During the event students and their families pay a small fee to play bingo in the schools cafeteria.

Along with Bingo, the PTA hosts a Chinese auction and a 50/50 raffle with prizes geared toward intermediate students and their families.

A photo booth, run by Images by Mandy, was also available for community members to use.

Candy themed props were available to take silly pictures with, according to Ritter, matching the theme of the night.

“We have a lot of fun here,” Ritter said. “Everyone of any age really enjoys this event.”

The PTA also sells concessions throughout the night, with all proceeds from the event going to the PTA.

“This benefits the kids of the school, all the money we make goes back into them,” Ritter said.

She explained that most of the funds raised from the event will go to Fun Day and fifth-grade graduation at the end of the year.

“We can spend over 10 grand on three days for Fun Day,” Ritter said. “So events like this are very helpful to keep those going.”
