Mahoning Valley Amateur Radio Association is celebrating 100 years of amateur radio this year. The club is asking any former members or anyone with information about former members to reply. Mill Creek Chapter of American Business Women’s Association will have its April 9 meeting at A La Cart Catering in Canfield beginning with networking at 6 p.m. and dinner at 6:30. The menu will feature southern baked chicken, Swiss steak, buttered parsley potatoes, peas and carrots, tossed salad, applesauce, Jell-O, dessert, coffee and tea. Cost is $18 per person. Tri-Gold Prime Time Chapter of American Business Women’s Association will celebrate its 15th anniversary at 5:30 p.m. April 10 at A La Cart Catering in Canfield. The theme will be “Crystal Showers Sprinkle Flowers.” Dinner will be served at 6. Cost is $21.50 with choice of stuffed flounder, chicken francaise or Swiss steak jardiniere and includes tossed salad, red-skin potatoes, cake and ice cream. First Friday Club of Greater Youngstown will host the Rev. Nelson Perez, bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Cleveland, at 11:30 a.m. April 4 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m., and the presentation will begin afterward. The Rev. Mr. Perez will speak on “Living in our modern world ... Friendly Squares will host its monthly square dance from 7:30 to 10 p.m. April 13 at the Niles SCOPE Center, 14 E. State St., Niles. Gene Hammond will be the caller, and Frankie Hammond will cue line dances. The theme will be “1970’s Disco.” This will be a high/low dance with alternating tips for new dancers currently taking lessons and tips for more experienced dancers. Steel Valley Ukers will meet at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Austintown library. Anyone interested in playing or learning to play the ukulele is invited to attend. Those who don’t play are welcome to sing along. The focus is for beginners during the first half of each session, followed by more complex group tunes and solos the last half. Stitches in Time, a get-together opportunity at the Salem library, 821 E. State St., for adults who do string and/or yarn crafting, will meet in the Quaker Room on the third Wednesday of each month from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The next meeting will take place April 17. Be Kind To Your Mind, a Christian group, will meet at The Way Station, state Route14, Columbiana, beginning Monday. This six-session group will include prayer, meditation, mindfulness and other resources for healing the mind and body. It will be led by Judy A. Shields, a counselor at Total Care Psychological Services in Boardman. She has conducted many groups at Beatitude House and other local organizations. Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection will host an “I See Trees of Green” luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 10 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Alzheimer Network Family Support Groups will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Easter Seals Adult Day Center, 299 Edwards St., Youngstown and at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S. Grief Share program will be hosted by Church Hill United Methodist Church, 189 Churchill-Hubbard Road, Youngstown, Thursdays through May 23. Grief Share is a Christian, Christ-centered program.
