Boardman Park to host pancake breakfast and Maple Syrup Festival


Boardman Park will host the 42nd annual Maple Syrup Festival and Boardman Rotary Pancake Breakfast from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on March 23-24 and from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. March 30-31.

The Maple Syrup Festival will offer outdoor activities, such as walking to Chester Long Pavilion to observe the park staff demonstrating how maple trees are tapped, the sap collected and boiled down to make syrup. Attendees may also learn scouting skills from Boy Scout Troop 60 and wagon rides through the park trails will also be available.

Inside the Lariccia Family Community Center, attendees can observe the talents of the Western Reserve Woodcarvers, visit the park table to purchase local maple syrup, see and feel taxidermy woodland creatures such as a coyote and fox, view artwork from Boardman Center Intermediate School and Glenwood Junior High School and the parents of Boy Scout Troop 60 will be having a basket raffle.

The cost of the pancake breakfast sponsored by the Boardman Rotary is $6 per person and children ages 6 and under are free. Proceeds from the breakfast stay in the community and support the many projects of the Boardman Rotary.
