Eastern Gateway defeats CCAC-South


AUSTINTOWN

Seven pitchers combined to scatter seven hits as the Eastern Gateway Gators defeated the Community College of Allegheny County-South Campus, 7-2 Tuesday at Austintown Fitch High School’s Rich Coppola Field.

Derrick Cuadrado (1-0) picked up the win as the Gators (4-4) climbed to the .500 mark for the first time this season.

Hayden Kristophel and Andrew Wess each had two hits, Noah Laster added a solo home run, Doug Painter stroked a triple while Zach Johnson and Waddy Moses each doubled to pace the EGCC offensive attack.

The Gators will travel to Springfield for a four-game series beginning Friday with the Clark State Community College Eagles.

First pitch is 1 p.m.
