CANFIELD

A city woman charged with stealing more than $182,000 from a Canfield doctor surrendered to authorities Tuesday evening.

Amanda J. Hahn, 36, of High Meadow Drive, pleaded not guilty to felony counts of forgery and aggravated theft at her arraignment in Mahoning County Area Court in the city.

Hahn, a former employee of Dr. Gregory Zinni, who has a practice on East Main Street, is accused of embezzling $182,176 from the office between 2015 and 2018, including forging the doctor’s signature on several checks payable to him, according to city police Detective Brian McGivern.

She’s cooperating with the department’s investigation, he said.

“We made an agreement with her attorney. She wasn’t going to be a flight risk. She’s cooperating with us and because of that ... we’ll let her surrender to the court,” McGivern said.

McGivern expects the case to be bound over to a county grand jury.

She’s been released on a personal recognizance bond, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
