Imhotep Charter 65, Hickory 46

The Hornets’ 19-game winning streak came to an end in the PIAA Class 4A boys state semifinals Monday night at Williamsport Area High School. Imhotep Charter’s Elijah Taylor scored 18 points and Dahmir Bishop added 12. Hickory (27-2) was led by Isaiah Jarzab’s 15 points and Donald Whitehead’s 12. Imhotep (25-6) will meet Bonner-Prendergast (22-5) in the state final Thursday at Giant Center in Hershey. Bonner-Prendergast beat Lower Moreland 83-47 on Monday night in another semifinal at Plymouth Whitemarsh High School.

West Middlesex 51, Everett 33

GREENSBURG, PA.

MaKennah White scored 18 of her 20 points in the final three quarters to lead the Big Red (26-3) in a PIAA Class 2A girls state semifinal Monday night at Hempfield Area High School. Karsyn Rupert scored 15 points for West Middlesex, which will meet Bellwood-Antis in the state final at noon Thursday at Giant Center in Hershey. The Big Red erased a 24-24 halftime tie by outscoring the Warriors 27-9 in the second half. Kaitlyn Maxwell led Everett (24-4) with 16 points, all in the first half.

EOAC, MVAC split two all-star games

LISBON

Shane Eynon (Springfield) and Joey Clark (Sebring) each scored 17 points and Jordan Zupko (Mineral Ridge) added 13 as the Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference boys beat the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference 78-66 in the MVAC-EOAC All-Star Game on Monday night at Lisbon High School. Justin Sweeney (Lisbon) and Garrett Scott (Wellsville) each had 11 points for the EOAC. In the girls game, Tessa Liggett (Columbiana) and Riley Felton (Southern) each scored 12 points as the EOAC beat the MVAC, 52-36. Marlie Applegarth (Springfield) and Ashley Cameron (Jackson-Milton) each scored 10 points for the MVAC. Western Reserve’s Kennedy Miller won the girls 3-point shooting contest and the Blue Devils’ Riley Miller took the title in the boys 3-point shooting contest.

Frank Bubba Memorial Classic set for March 26 at Harding

Trumbull County Coaches Association will present the Frank Bubba Memorial Classic on March 26 at Warren Harding High School. The girls game will tip off at 6 p.m. and the boys game will follow. Three-point contests will be held at halftime of each game.
