SENIOR CITIZENS


AARP 4611 East Youngstown will meet for its executive board meeting at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 707 Arlington St. Kim Hamilton, published author, certified coach and career entrepreneur will give a presentation on “Hope for the Future” at noon. January, February and March birthdays will be celebrated. Annual membership dues of $7 will be collected. Guests and new members are welcome to attend meetings and bus trips. Holy Family Seniors Group will meet at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland. Lunch is $4 per member and will be served at noon followed by bingo and card games. Membership dues are $10 for the year and will be collected at this meeting. Members are reminded that meetings will be canceled during the winter months if the weather is too cold or snowy for safe travel. Public Employee Retirees Inc. will meet at 11:30 a.m. April 2 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Joe Gorman, the club’s legislative officer, will provide an update for possible changes to the OPERS pension benefits. Guest speaker will be Sheriff Jerry Greene. Lunch is $13 per person and reservations must be made by March 25 by calling Arlene DeChellis at 330-726-8019 or Mary Grace Welsh at 330-743-8425. There will be a 50-50 raffle. All public employee retirees are invited to join the P.E.R.I. meetings for information to protect pensions.
