GARDEN CLUBS


MONDAY

Garden Gate Garden Club will meet at 1 p.m. Joann Vlacancich will be the hostess and will demonstrate an aloe vera plant cylinder vase.

TUESDAY

Holborn Herb Growers Guild will meet at 7 p.m. at the Beard Cabin in Boardman Park. Marilyn McKinley, HHGG member and OSU Extension Master Gardener, will discuss herbs for pollinator conservation. The meeting and refreshments will follow.

Trailwood Gardeners will meet at 11:30 a.m. at Farmhouse Yarns in Petersburg. Members are to take a bagged lunch. Hostesses will be Denien Semach, Linda DeLost and Pam Phillips.

WEDNESDAY

St. Michael Garden Guild will meet at 7 p.m. in the church hall. Ellen Speicher will host “Plants and Gardening.” Hostesses will be Janet Murray and Paula Lavin.

THURSDAY

Johnny Appleseed Garden Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Robert Schaeffer of the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department will speak about “Tips, Frauds and Scams.” Hostesses will be Rose Marie Zamary and Marilyn Leslie.

UPCOMING

Garden Forum of the Greater Youngstown Area will host its spring general meeting, “Tiptoe Through the Tulips,” on April 13 at Fellows Riverside Gardens. The event will be hosted by Holborn Herb Growers Guild and St. Michael Garden Guild of Canfield. A.J. Pettitti will speak, and Judy Conti’s Dancing Divas will perform. Lunch will feature fattoush salad, rosemary chicken, stuffed portabella caps, rice pilaf, garlic green beans, beverage and dessert. Cost is $20 for forum members and $25 for nonmembers. The event is open to the public. All paid reservations must be mailed to the forum office by April 1. No walk-in orders or phone reservations will be accepted.
