Donald Whitehead scored 25 points, Isaiah Jarzab added 14 and the Hornets (27-1) shot 41 percent (20 of 48) from the floor in beating the Hurricanes (23-5) in a PIAA Class 4A quarterfinal at Slippery Rock University. Drew Cox led New Castle with 18 points and Demtris McKnight added 13. The Hurricanes shot 33 percent (18 of 53) from the floor. Hickory advances to face Imhotep Charter in a PIAA semifinal on Monday. Imhotep Charter defeated Bishop McDevitt, 63-51, on Friday night in Reading.
