2 Phantoms teams win tournaments

YOUNGSTOWN

Two Youngstown Phantoms Youth Hockey Association teams won championships on Sunday.

The Youngstown Phantom’s 14U Minor A team made it a clean sweep at the Frozen Pond in Valencia, Pa., by capturing the Pennsylvania Amateur Hockey League crown with a 1-0 win over Lawrence County Lightning.

Joey Sfara scored the goal, tipping in a shot by Bailey Ryan. Alan Doll also had an assist and goaltender Victor Willock posted the shutout.

The team won the regular season with a 17-0-3 record.

The Youngstown Phantoms Youth Squirt team 10U Minor A team swept the Open Division Season End Tournament with a 4-1 win over Pittsburgh’s Arctic Foxes from Pittsburgh at the Covelli Centre.

The Squirt team was undefeated in their regular season games ending 14-0.
