Fitch bands to perform concert


AUSTINTOWN

The Austintown Fitch band program will host its annual concert at the Fitch High School auditorium at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Director Wesley O’Connor has announced this year’s concert theme will be “Broadway at the Movies.”

The instrumental music program consists of the freshman band, the concert band and the symphonic band and has 140 members.

Highlights from the freshman band will be“Bright Lights on Broadway,” a medley from “The Phantom of the Opera” and they will close the program with Meredith Willson’s “Seventy Six Trombones” from “The Music Man.”

The concert band will perform “Pinball Wizard,” a selection from “Tommy” along with “Singin’ in the Rain” and the recent hit “The Greatest Showman.”

The symphonic band will play Leonard Bernstein’s “West Side Story” along with selections from “Wicked” and highlights from Abba’s “Mamma Mia.”
