“Community Connection” (Sunday at 6:30 a.m. on 21 WFMJ-TV and 11 a.m. on WBCB-TV): March is Women’s History Month, and E. Carol Maxwell from the Warren Women’s History Committee will join host Madonna Chism Pinkard to discuss the annual Visionary Women Luncheon, featuring portrayals of historical icons Mary Todd Lincoln and Elizabeth Keckley.

Next, Amanda Fehlbaum from the Youngstown State University Women’s Studies Department will discuss women’s history programming at the university.

Finally, Lundeana Thomas and professor Mwatabu Okantah will discuss the Pan-African Theater of Kent State University and the upcoming presentation of “Digital Masks to Africa – Cheikh Anta Diop: Poem for the Living.”

Boat show at Knight Center

The Akron Boat & Water Sports Show will continue today and Sunday at the John S. Knight Center, 77 E. Mill St. Hours are 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $8 (free for children 12 and under). Parking is free at several adjacent city garages.

The event will include the latest fishing boats, family runabouts, tow boats and pontoons, all on display. The latest technology will be demonstrated; for example, tow boats specially designed for water skiing, tubing, wake boarding and wake surfing.

Pontoon boats, which are popular on Northeast Ohio’s lakes, will be on display, ranging from $15,000 basic models to ultra-luxurious ones priced at $50,000 and up.

Personal watercraft, paddleboards and kayaks will also take center stage.
