The Austintown library hosted a string vase crafting event on May 6.
Librarian Renee Beverly organized the event.
“It’s an easy project, and it makes a cute Mother’s Day idea,” Beverly said.
Beverly pre-prepared wooden boards with nails in them in the shape of a vase.
Community members were able to choose from a number of colors of string that they wrapped around the nails to form the pattern they wanted.
“It’s really very simple, but the end result is a really cool piece of wall art,” Beverly said.
After wrapping the string, community members chose from a number of fake flowers to finish the art piece.
Placing the flowers into the “vase” made out of string the project was completed.
“It’s a lot of fun, and it can even be changed over time by adding different flowers,” Beverly said.
