Word from The Vindicator
The Vindicator’s commitment to exposing public corruption, power- brokering and influence peddling in the Mahoning Valley is deeply rooted, as the editorial below from the inaugural edition of The Vindicator on June 25, 1869, reveals.
We have reprinted the original to provide our readers with a glance at history. Newspapers, in particular, and the media, in general, have long been the mainstay of the greatest democracy on earth. Unfortunately, we’re under attack from many quarters, including the White House. The cartoon on the right illustrates what’s taking place today.
We hope the editorial from 150 years ago and other items on the page from the first edition will inspire Valley residents to recommit to seeking the truth.
