“Songland” (10:01 P.M., NBC): Meghan Trainor comes to “Songland” to hear unknown songwriters pitch their original material to be her next hit song. Three of the most successful and sought-after writer-producers in music, Ryan Tedder, Ester Dean and Shane McAnally, produce the songwriters to creatively adapt their songs to perfectly fit Trainor’s style. One song is chosen to be recorded by Trainor and released for a global audience.

Christian music duo to play Stambaugh

YOUNGSTOWN

David Phelps and Sandi Patty will come to Stambaugh Auditorium for a 7:30 p.m. concert Oct. 3.

Tickets range from $25 to $55 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at the Stambaugh box office, 1000 Fifth Ave.; online at stambaughauditorium.com; and by phone at 330-259-0555. Discount tickets will be available for groups of 10 or more; call the box office.

Phelps was a member of the Gaither Vocal Band for more than 15 years, during which he received numerous Dove and Grammy Awards. Patty is the most awarded female vocalist in contemporary Christian music history and a 2004 inductee in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame.

Italian festival seeks pageant contestants

YOUNGSTOWN

The 2019 Greater Youngstown Italian Fest, Aug. 2-4, downtown, is seeking contestants for its Little King and Queen (age 6-7) and Prince and Princess (age 4-5) pageants. This is a culture-based event, so children must be of Italian descent.

The festival is also seeking contestants for its Miss Italian Fest (age 14-19) and Junior Miss (age 8-13) pageants. Contestants will be showcased in the following areas:

Miss Italian Fest: Evening gown, talent and judge’s question.

Junior Miss: Party dress, talent and judge’s question.
