Church to host concert Sunday

GIRARD

The First Presbyterian Church, 890 Churchill Road, will host a free concert from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Entertainment will be Rudy and the Professionals and refreshments will be provided. There will be a basket raffle and raffle for gift certificates. Proceeds will assist in providing school supplies to children at the Children’s Carnival that will take place in August. ASMV awarded grant

YOUNGSTOWN

The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the Kennedy Family Fund of the Community Foundation of the Mahoning Valley to support its 5th annual Camp F.R.I.E.N.D.: Finding Rewards In Every New Day, an inclusive day camp experience for children, teens and young adult students with autism and their friends. Camp will take place July 15-19 and Aug. 12 to 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. each day at the Central YMCA in downtown. The grant will enable the society to offer financial-based scholarships. Camp costs $150 per student per week, and scholarships are available. Registration forms can be downloaded at AutismMV.org/campfriend and can be mailed by request by emailing ASMV at camp@autismmv.org. The Autism Society is still welcoming volunteers, interns and neurotypical peers to assist. Donations from individuals and businesses are being accepted to help defray additional costs.

Library to host bingo

The public is invited to celebrate the 4th of July with patriotic picture bingo at the Newport Public Library, 3730 Market St., at 5 p.m. July 2 in a half hour to 45-minute program for families with children. Prizes will be awarded.

SRMC Auxiliary to host summer raffle

Salem Regional Medical Center Auxiliary is announcing its summer raffle that will take place through Sept. 11. Tickets will be available for $1 each or six for $5 at SRMC’s Look Nook Gift Shop, 1995 E. State St.

Auxiliary members also will sell tickets in the SRMC cafeteria from 8 to 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Aug. 29 through 30 and at the Salem Giant Eagle from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 12 and Aug. 16. The winner will be drawn Sept. 12 at the auxiliary’s monthly meeting.

The prize is a backyard barbecue party for up to 10 people provided by Boneshakers of Salem. The package includes ribs, pulled pork sandwiches, au gratin potatoes, coleslaw, baked beans and dessert. For information, call 330-337-2883. Raffle proceeds benefit patient care and comfort at SRMC.

Society to host open houses

The Poland Historical Society will host an open house of the Little Red Schoolhouse, 4515 Center Road, from 1 to 3 p.m. July 14 and Aug. 11. Society members will be available to answer questions.

Celebration set for July 6

Idora Park museum will open three days
