YSU athlete GPAs reach record high

Youngstown State student-athletes set an all-time high with a semester grade-point average of 3.19, the athletic department announced Monday.

Led by the women’s basketball team’s 3.74 grade-point average, 15 teams posted semester GPAs of 3.0-or-higher, and 50 individual student-athletes recorded a semester GPA of 4.0.

Sixty-four percent (246) of student-athletes posted a semester GPA of 3.0-or-higher, while 65 percent (255) carry a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
