“Songland” (10:01 P.M., NBC): The Jonas Brothers come to “Songland” to hear unknown songwriters pitch their original material to be their next hit song. Three of the most successful and sought-after writer-producers in music, Ryan Tedder, Ester Dean and Shane McAnally, produce the songwriters to creatively adapt their songs to perfectly fit the Jonas Brothers’ style. One song is chosen to be recorded by the Jonas Brothers and released for a global audience.

Taste of South Side at St. Patrick’s

YOUNGSTOWN

Delicacies prepared by local cooks will be showcased at Taste of the South Side from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday in the social hall of St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave. Visitors will have the opportunity to vote for the best food.

Admission is $20 per person ($30 per couple and a family of two adults and two children). Tickets for additional family members are $2 for children under 12 and $10 for ages 12 and up. Only 150 tickets will be sold. Admission includes tasting tickets, beverage and bread. The event will also include a basket raffle and a 50/50 raffle

Children up to age 12 will have the opportunity to enjoy the Kids Corner with their own food and a variety of activities at the Needle’s Eye located across the street from St. Patrick Church. Parents can bring children to the Needle’s Eye before they go to the social hall. Four mothers will be supervising the children as they participate in several activities, including a scavenger hunt.

Poland Idol singing contest seeks entries

POLAND

The annual Poland Idol singing contest will take place June 29 at the Celebrate Poland festival. For early registration, call 330-651-2999. Contestants can also register the morning of the event from 10:30 to 11:50 a.m. at the Town Hall gazebo. Fee is $20.

There are four age categories: kindergarten-fourth grade, fifth- through eighth grade, high school and adult. There will three prizes in every category, including a recording session.
