The Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP), a program of the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board, is sponsoring the “2019 ASAP Summer Track Meet” on July 13 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Warren G. Harding High School track complex, 860 Elm Road NE. Children and families from Trumbull County and the surrounding area are encouraged to participate.

Members of the McDonald High School and Warren G. Harding High School track teams are assisting with the event. The registration fee is $10 per child. Participants must arrive by 8:30 a.m. for same-day registration. Also, registration forms can be found online at www.trumbullmhrb.org. For information, call 330-675-2765, ext. 111.

Learn healthy eating

HOWLAND

Healthy Eating for You, a free program sponsored by Mercy Health Foundation Mahoning Valley and led by a registered dietitian, will address portion size, reading and understanding nutrition labels, and learning to eat mindfully.

This program is from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday at Howland Medical Center, 1932 Niles-Cortland Road NE., Warren. To register, call 330-480-3070.

Miracle Network fund raiser for ACH

Walmart and Sam’s Club are having their annual Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals register campaign to benefit Akron Children’s Hospital.

Now through July 7, Walmart and Sam’s Club customers at 36 locations in the Akron and Mahoning Valley areas can make a $1, $2 or $5 donation at the register when completing a purchase. For a $5 donation, customers will receive a reusable, insulated, zippered tote featuring the Akron Children’s and CMN logos, while supplies last.

Sports physicals offered

Akron Children’s Hospital is offering sports physicals required for high school student athletes by the Ohio High School Athletic Association, at its urgent-care sites through Sept. 15, including the Warren site at 5000 E. Market St., Suite 29.

Sports physicals cost $45 per student-athlete and payment is due at the time of service. Insurance will not be billed. Patients under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
