Dinner, concert to benefit the Hoyt

NEW CASTLE, PA.

The Tania Grubbs Quintet will perform a benefit dinner concert at Arts & Education at the Hoyt, 124 E. Leasure Ave., from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $50 and are available by calling 724-652-2882 or online at hoytartcenter.org.

Guest can enjoy a selection of VentiSei wines on the historic Hoyt West terrace before sitting down to a three-course meal prepared by New Castle’s Kiss the Cook. Select from sliced beef with horseradish sauce, Tuscan chicken or bowtie pasta as your entree accompanied by roasted asparagus, rosemary red potatoes, a fresh pear salad and a fresh berry parfait.

Grubbs is well-known in the Pittsburgh jazz scene as a performer and music director at the Fairmont Pittsburgh Hotel.

A Youngstown State University graduate, she has been a featured vocalist with the Pittsburgh Symphony, Pittsburgh Jazz Orchestra, Florida Philharmonic Orchestra and the Boca Raton Pops Orchestra.

Grubbs is backed by a stellar band including husband Jeff Grubbs, who has been a bassist for the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra for 23 years.
