Community members channeled their inner royalty at the Austintown library on April 23.

Librarian Renee Beverly organized a “Game of Thrones” necklace making event to celebrate the last season of the popular show.

“It’s just such a cool story and a lot of people are invested in it,” Beverly said. “Myself included.”

Beverly said she is a fan, and keeps up with the show, but that many people who had never watched it also were in attendance.

“We have some fans, and some people who have never seen it, so there is a cool mix,” she said.

During the event community members used tacks that Beverly colored with nail polish to create a dragon egg pendant.

The tacks were pressed into a foam ball, and attached to a chain.

After the construction of the necklace Beverly applied Modge Podge to the necklaces to keep them together.

The library also purchased pendants to attach to the chains as well.

The variety of pendants available to community members were all based off of the Targaryen house from the show.

The character Daenerys Targaryen of the House Targaryen of Dragonstone has three dragons in the show, which was the inspiration for the necklaces.

“It’s just a fun way to get into the show,” Beverly said. “I thought it was a really great idea.”
