The Boardman Park kicked off their annual Music in the Park program with a performance by the Del Sinchak Band on June 6.
Community members gathered at the park, bringing lawn chairs and blankets, to listen to the band perform.
“This is one of the bands that we have come every year,” said Karen McCallum, the park’s recreation director.
She explained that the Del Sinchak Band have been long time supporters of the park, and even sponsored concerts in the past.
The band played a variety of polka music for those gathered.
“It’s a fun and casual event for anyone who wants to attend,” McCallum said.
The event is free, and is hosted at the parks Maag Outdoor Theatre from 7-8:30 p.m.
Performances are scheduled once a week through Aug. 22.
Sponsors for the program this year include Pepsi, The Debartolo Corporation, the Boardman Rotary, Boardman Subaru, Phantom Fireworks and Aqua.
