Idora Park sound at Tyler event

“Got A Date With an Angel – Musical Memories of Idora Park” will be performed at the Tyler History Center, 235 W. Federal St., downtown, at 6 p.m. June 21. It will feature Joseph Rubin and his orchestra playing musical favorites that celebrate performances at Youngstown’s Idora Park Ballroom in the 1930s.

The event will feature a dance floor, as well as displayed images and artifacts from Idora Park. For ticket information, go to mahoninghistory.org.

Youngstown favorite Hal Kemp and his Orchestra was a popular Idora act in the 1930s, and Rubin’s orchestra will perform his original arrangements.
