Annarella service, calling hours set

Austintown

The funeral service for Austintown Fitch football coach Phil Annarella will be at St. Stephen Church in Niles. The service will begin at 10 a.m. on Saturday.

Calling hours are scheduled for Friday from 2-8 p.m. at the Fitch High School in the Auditorium.

Rademacher joins YSU women’s hoops staff

Division I veteran Autumn Rademacher has joined the Youngstown State women’s basketball staff as an assistant coach, YSU head coach John Barnes announced on Tuesday.

Rademacher has spent every season since 1993-94 at the Division I level as either a student-athlete, assistant coach or head coach. Of those 26 seasons, 15 have come in the Horizon League and 12 have resulted in postseason appearances

Rademacher spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Arkansas State. Prior to that, she served as the head coach at her alma mater, Detroit Mercy, from 2008-15, and she was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Green Bay from 2004-08. Rademacher spent her first seven seasons as a coach as an assistant at Western Michigan from 1997-2004.

Most recently at Arkansas State, Rademacher helped the Red Wolves to 61 victories and a Women’s NIT appearance in four seasons. Arkansas State went 27-6 overall and 19-1 in the Sun Belt Conference to win the regular season title and earn a bid to the WNIT in 2015-16. The Red Wolves set school records for wins (27), longest winning streak (18), consecutive home wins (25) and field-goal percentage (.450) during that season.

Western Reserve’s Woolf to go to Malone

Western Reserve’s Layla Woolf plans to continue her academic career and athletic career at Malone University.

Woolf will join the softball team and major in nursing with hopes of aspiring to become a pediatric physicians assistant.

Woolf has been the varsity pitcher and plays third base. She received second team All-Mahoning Valley Athletic Conference as a sophomore and senior and first team her junior season.

YSU football season tickets available

Youngstown

Youngstown State football fans can purchase or renew their season tickets for the 2019 football season, which will feature seven home games for the Penguins.

The Penguins have home contests against Howard, Duquesne, Robert Morris along with conference tilts against South Dakota State, Western Illinois, North Dakota State and Illinois State at Stambaugh Stadium.

Penguins fans can purchase season tickets by calling the YSU Athletics Ticket Office at (330) 941-1YSU or visiting the Athletic Ticket Office in Stambaugh Stadium. The renewal deadline for Penguin Club/Gridiron Club members is July 1.

The price for the 2019 season is $120 for reserved seats. New in 2019 is a “Family Plan” that features two adult and two youth season tickets for $280. For the second straight year, the “Young Alumni Program” season-ticket package is available for $60 per ticket (50 percent off of a regular season ticket). The Young Alumni Program is for YSU alumni who have graduated in the past four years can buy up to two special priced season tickets.

Wiley takes first at junior golf in Ravenna

Ravenna

Cole Wiley shot an even 70 during a Northern Ohio PGA Junior Golf event at Windmill Lakes Golf Course on Tuesday.

Braden Smith finished second at 1-over 71 and Dean Austalosh came in third with a 73.

Michael Lee and Colin Frimel tied for fourth with a 75.
