Society will host police officers today

Springfield Township Historical Society will host two officers, one human and one canine, from the Springfield Township Police Department at 6:30 p.m. today at the museum, 14118 Youngstown-Pittsburgh Road. The program will focus on summer safety. The event is free and open to the public.

‘Google Calendar’ class set for today

Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will offer a variety of classes this summer to familiarize participants with tools that “Google” offers. The first class will take place at 4 p.m. today in the Quaker Room. Kathy Bennett will be the instructor. If possible take a device to practice on. Seating is limited and registration is required. Inspiring Minds plans golf outing

The eighth annual Inspiring Minds Celebrity Golf Outing will take place at 9 a.m. Friday at Avalon Lakes Golf Course, 1 American Way. Members of the business, sports and political communities have signed on to be a part of this exclusive, daylong event, many for the eighth-consecutive year.

Event proceeds benefit the local youth of Inspiring Minds, a nonprofit organization located in Warren. The organization was founded by Deryck Toles, former NFL player.

Mike Hull Memorial Ride for Autism

YOUNGSTOWN

The 7th annual Mike Hull Memorial Ride for Autism will take place June 15 at West Side Bowl, 2617 Mahoning Ave. Registration begins 10 a.m., followed by the Blessing of the Bikes at 11:45 and the run at noon. Past rides have traveled from Lake Milton to Salem to Columbiana and back again. Free bowling and a pizza party will take place from noon to 10 p.m. The event is free for all children and adults with special needs. The last bike in will be at 5 p.m. The event will include a performance by Stormy Weather Band, food and raffles. $10 per rider includes food, ticket and music. Non-rider cost $10; children 12 and under are $5. Proceeds support the programming of the Autism Society of Mahoning Valley helping families and individuals with autism in the tri-county area. Society will celebrate 100th anniversary

The Cultural Society of St. John the Baptist Church will host its 100th anniversary celebration at 3 p.m. Sept. 15 at St. John the Baptist Church, 301 Struthers-Liberty Road. A dinner will follow at the Palermo Center.
