Taste of St. Patrick’s on tap for June 23

St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oakhill Ave., will host “A Taste of St. Patrick’s” from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 23 in the social hall. Delicacies prepared by local and renowned cooks will be showcased.

Guests will have the opportunity to vote for the best food. Tickets for the event are $20 per person, $30 per couple, and a family discount for two adults and two children, $30. Tickets for additional family members are $2 for children under 12 and $10 for age 12 and up. Only 150 tickets will be sold.

Admission includes tasting tickets, beverage and bread. The event will also include a basket raffle and a 50-50 raffle. Children up to age 12 will have the opportunity to enjoy the Kids Corner with their own food and a variety of activities at the Needle’s Eye located across the street from the church.

Joseph Babisch exhibit opens at the Butler

The Butler Institute of American Art, which is celebrating its 100th Anniversary, is has announced the opening of “Curtain up, Light the Lights: Impressions of the American Musical Theatre,” an exhibition from artist and connoisseur of Broadway musical theater, Joseph Babisch. The exhibition will open Sunday with a meet-the-artist reception from 1 to 3 p.m., and will be on view at The Butler, 524 Wick Avenue, through July. Admission to the Butler and the exhibit is free, as well as parking in the museum’s on-site lot.

“As an aficionado of the Broadway musical, who better to celebrate the blending of Broadway with the visual arts? This exhibit, ‘Curtain Up, Light the Lights,’ is a joy to experience and a tribute to a local master,” said Louis Zona, executive director/chief curator-The Butler Institute of American Art.
