The Rev. Peter Haladej presided over the exchange of vows between Catherine Carney and Matthew English during their wedding at 1 p.m. Oct. 20, 2018, at Holy Family Church in Poland. Mr. Anthony’s Banquet Hall in Boardman was the setting for a reception that evening in honor of the couple.

The bride is a daughter of Michael and Susan Carney of Poland. Mark and Mary English of East Liverpool are the groom’s parents.

The bride wore an ivory lace gown with a column silhouette. It was designed with off-the-shoulder sheer lace sleeves, a deep sweetheart neckline and a cathedral-length train accented with organic-edged lace. Her ensemble was completed with an ivory fingertip veil.

Carolyn Carney, the bride’s sister, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids, wearing burgundy dresses, were Allison English, sister of the groom; Anna Reed; Annalise Walkama; Vivien Clayton; Emma Buzas; and Taylor Conrad.

The groom’s brother, Evan English, served as best man. Zack Cowan, Quintin Steele, Greg Munoz and and the bride’s brothers, Patrick, Michael and Stephen Carney, were groomsmen.

Mrs. English graduated from Youngstown State University with a bachelor’s degree and earned a juris doctor degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. She is an assistant attorney general in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office in Columbus.

Mr. English graduated with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from YSU and is a project engineer at Autotool Inc. in Plain City.

The couple reside in Columbus.
