Ray “Boom Boom” Mancini will host bottle signings at three locations in June. On Saturday, he will be at Chalet Premier, 10000 Market St., North Lima, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Giant Eagle, 3130 Center Road, Poland, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Mancini will be at the Macali’s Giant Eagle, 48 Vienna Ave., Niles, from 1 to 3 p.m. June 15. At each signing, bottles of Boom Boom Bourbon will be available for purchase and signing.
Society will host education series

The Salem Preservation Society will host its free, 2019 summer public education series at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Ruth Smucker House, 271 S. Broadway Ave. John Angelilli, GreenHeart Restoration and Millwork, will discuss the process for restoring windows in residential and commercial buildings and the benefits of the process as opposed to replacing windows. There also will be a program at 7 p.m. July 11 that will provide information about how to get recognition for your historic home or building. Information also will be given about “Century Home” programs, the Ohio Historic Inventory and the National Register recognition programs. For information, visit www.salempreservation.org.
Society to present Civil War Series
NEW CASTLE, PA
The Lawrence County Historical Society has renewed its Civil War Series, embracing the mission to preserve, protect, and promote local history within the community. The society will host a three-week Civil War Series from Tuesday to June 27. The series will include engaging re-enactors, interactive classes and more. In addition, the students and their guardians will travel to Gettysburg National Military Park on June 28 for a personal tour of the Civil War battlefield. The program allows for students, volunteers, teachers, parents/guardians and historians to collaborate in a pursuit of learning. Registration is open. All Lawrence County fifth-and-sixth grade students are encouraged to register. LCHS will waive the $20 fee for its members. A cost is involved, but sponsors can help reduce the program fees. ‘Gettin’ Crafty’ set

The craft for Monday’s class at the Salem Public Library, 821 E. State St., will be creating a friendship card for someone who has helped with life’s “bumps in the road.” All materials will be furnished for this adult craft class that will meet in the Quaker Room from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Skill level is beginner. Registration is required and may be done online at www.salem.lib.oh.us or by calling 330-332-0042 for assistance. This program is free and open to the public.
