Two new exhibits set to open at YSU museum
YOUNGSTOWN
The McDonough Museum of Art, 525 Wick Ave., on the campus of Youngstown State University, will open two exhibitions on June 8.
Admission is free. The museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“Centennial Impressions: A Celebration of Prints” highlights masterworks of modern and contemporary printmaking from the Butler Institute of American Art’s permanent collection. This exhibition, along with “Studio Conversations in Art Education,” will be on display through July 20. An opening reception for both exhibitions will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday.
“Centennial Impressions” will help celebrate the Butler’s 100th anniversary, which is being marked this year. The prints were produced by world famous artists, from Romare Bearden and Robert Rauschenburg to Andy Warhol and Lynda Benglis.
“Studio Conversations” highlights artwork by 12 women art educators in higher education from the United States and Canada who maintain an active studio practice.
Grammy-winning Kenny G. to play at Packard Music Hall

Saxophonist Kenny G, a Grammy-award winner known for his ability to blend jazz with pop, R&B, and Latin sounds, will perform at 8 p.m. Sept. 7 at Packard Music Hall.
Tickets go on sale Friday. Tickets are $39.50 to $69.50 – additional fees may apply.
He has sold million records worldwide, and a recording career spanning more than three decades.
Kenny G’s biggest hit single was 1987’s Songbird, which peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. His best-selling album, 1992’s “Breathless,” sold 12 million copies in the U.S.
