Jennifer Ragusa, Thomas Monus to marry Aug. 9

Jennifer Ragusa of Austintown and Thomas Monus of Struthers are announcing their engagement. The couple will be joined in marriage during a 4 p.m. ceremony Aug. 9 at The Gathering Place at Darlington Lake. An evening reception will follow. Invitations will be issued for both events.

Barbara Ragusa of Austintown and Frank Ragusa of Ipswich, Mass., are the bride-elect’s parents.

The prospective groom’s parents are Paul and Louise Monus of Struthers.

Miss Ragusa earned a bachelor’s degree in communications from Ohio State University, a bachelor’s degree in special education from Youngstown State University, and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University Chicago. She is an intervention specialist in the Struthers City School District.

Mr. Monus completed a two-year automotive technology program at the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center and is the road department foreman for Poland Township. He also is a certified volunteer fireman for the Struthers Fire Department.
