JULY

SUNDAY — Second annual Eye Run in the Sun, a 5K Race/ Walk for Vision, at the Austintown Township Park. All proceeds will benefit the local efforts of Sight for All United, a non-profit organization, whose mission is to provide eye care services to all individuals regardless of their ability to pay. Registration begins at 7:30 a.m. with the 5K starting at 9 a.m. A Peachick Run/Walk for children 12 years or younger will begin at 8:30 a.m. Prizes will be given to the top three men and women runners in each age group. First 200 entries will receive a free “Proud as a Peacock” T-shirt.

AUGUST

3 — The 26th annual Star Trax 5K Night Run at Reilly Stadium in Salem to benefit the Salem cross country and track program. Race starts and finishes at Reilly Stadium. Registration begins at 7 p.m. and closes at 8:45 p.m. Race starts at 9 p.m. Online registration at gopherarun.com cost is $17 if received before July 26. Online registration closes July 29. Cost day of the race is $20. Awards given to top three men and women and first three places in each age group.

3 — Saint Patrick Festival in Hubbard is having their third annual Hunger 5K Run/Walk to benefit the food pantry and also the Hubbard Elementary Weekend Buddies, food assistance program. Race starts 9 a.m. behind the church. One loop on the streets. Cost $20 until day of race. To guarantee a shirt, register by July 22. Age 10 and under free. 9 — The 35th annual Pizza Splash 5K at the Trumbull Family Fitness Center in Warren. Registration is 5:30 p.m. with the race at 7 p.m. Cost is $18 prior to day of the race. Race day cost is $20. Online registration can be completed on gopherarun.com. Top three male and female winners, masters and grandmasters will receive prize money. Awards will be given to top three in each age group.

10 — Third annual Run With a Mission 5K, 1-Mile Fun Walk and Fun Kids Race at New Life Church. 2250 E. Western Reserve Rd. in Poland. Race-day registration at 7:30 a.m. Kids race at 8:45 a.m. The 5K and 1-mile walk begin at 9 a.m. Call 330-787-2516 for more information.

25 — The 10th annual Panerathon at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown. Registration opens at 8 a.m. The 10K run/walk starts at 10 a.m. The two-mile run/walk starts at 10:05 a.m. The Kids Run will begin at 11:30 a.m. Top five finishers in the 10k will receive cash prizes along with top three in the mile. The 40 and over masters, 50 and over grandmasters and 60 and over seniormasters will receive $75. Cost is $30 for pre-registration and $35 race day for 10k and $25 pre-registration and $30 race day for two mile. Team cost $20 per individual team member. Individual pre-registration deadline is Aug. 21, team pre-registration deadline is Aug. 19 and race day registration begins at 8 a.m.

SEPTEMBER

22 — 49th Lordstown Apple Cider Festival 5K at 10 a.m. Plaques will be given to the top three finishers in the men’s and women’s divisions. New age classes, with medals given for the top three finishers for age groups starting at age 14 through 70 and above, both male and female. T-shirts are guaranteed to all pre-registrants. The advanced registration fee is $17. Advanced registrations should be postmarked prior to Sept. 5. Registration is available on the day of the race at a cost of $20. Check-in and registration is from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at Lordstown High School, 1824 Salt Springs Road SW in Lordstown.
