Astro Falcons 11, Release Baseball 6

The Astro Falcons won the NABF 14U World Series on Sunday at Bob Cene Park. Three Release errors helped Astro break the game open. Stephen Tarnoci recorded the final five outs for the Falcons’ the win. Sal Corbo took the loss in relief for Release, surrendering the winning run in the seventh. Brock Lowry, the World Series MVP, had three hits, including a triple. He scored twice and drove in two runs. Anthony Miller, named best pitcher of the World Series, recorded two doubles among his three hits and scored three times. AJ Havrilla had a hit, a run and two RBIs while Fornataro contributed a two-run single and a run scored to the Astro effort. Dylan Daetwyler had two hits for Release, including a two-run double, and scored once. Corbo had a hit and scored twice. Joey Canzoni, named as the best hitter in the World Series, drove in two runs for Release.

A2Z Athletics 18, Eagle Wear 10

STRUTHERS

Braeden D’Angleo picked up the win for A2Z, pitching five innings and allowing eight runs. Connor Miller suffered the loss for Eagle Wear, giving up five runs without recording an out. Anthony Magalise helped lead the offense onslaught for A2Z, recording three hits, including an RBI double. He scored four times in the contest. Jarrod Malagise had a double among his three hits, scored three times and drove in a run. Parker Lyons slugged two hits, one a double, drove in three runs and scored two of his own. Shane Lindstrom banged out two hits, including a two-run double, and scored twice while Carlo Battalini hit a two-run double in the win for A2Z. JP Genova led the way for Eagle Wear with three hits, two runs and an RBI. Bryce Barringer hit a pair of doubles, drove in three runs, and scored twice while Joe Gentile hit a double and drove in three runs in the game.

Release Baseball 5, A2Z Athletics 1

STRUTHERS

Anthony Malagise suffered the loss for A2Z, allowing all five runs in just 21/3 innings pitched. Joey Canzoni picked up the win for Release, allowing just an unearned run in a complete game outing, allowing four hits, two runs, and striking out eight. Jarrod Malagise touched home for the lone A2Z run. Canzoni helped his own cause at the plate with a two-run double and two runs scored for Release. Nate Muncy added two hits and an RBI to the winning cause.
