Store will host celebration today

Extending Grace, a vintage and antique home decor business, will host its 3-year birthday celebration today through Sunday at 18 W. Liberty St. The public is invited to attend a ribbon cutting ceremony at noon today and mimosas will be served. Susan Mocker and Devon Cretella, store owners, also feature local artisans with handmade jewelry, pillows, soaps and more. Doctor to celebrate with a ‘Summer Bash’

Dr. Manuel Bautista, pulmonologist, will sponsor the second annual birthday benefit from 4 to 1:30 a.m. Saturday at the Magic Tree Pub & Eatery, 7463 South Ave. A $20 donation is requested for party favors, cake, live music, DJ and more. There also will be a ticket auction, 50-50 drawing, and wine and beer tasting.

Camp F.R.I.E.N.D. to begin Monday

The Autism Society of Mahoning Valley was recently awarded a $20,000 grant from the Hine Memorial Fund of The Youngstown Foundation to support the fifth annual Camp F.R.I.E.N.D.: Finding Rewards In Every New Day. This is an inclusive day camp for children, teens, and young adult students with autism and their friends, and will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and Aug. 12 through 16 each day at the YMCA of Youngstown, 17 N. Champion St.

Cost is $150 per student and financial scholarships are available. Registrations forms can be downloaded at AutismMV.org/campfriend and can be mailed by request by sending an email to camp@autismmv.org. The Autism Society is in need of volunteers, interns and neurotypical peers to assist. Donations from individuals and business sponsorships are being accepted to help defer additional costs.

Library surplus items for sale at Newport

Surplus items from the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County will be offered to the public for sale from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and July 19 at the Newport Library, 3730 Market St. Items include: office chairs, metal and wood shelving, book carts, a couch, a television with stand lights and more. Cash sales only. Customers should come prepared to take their items with them; there are no deliveries. There will be no previews or advance sales.

9-11 committee to host memorial

The Mahoning Valley 9-11 Committee is inviting local fire departments, police departments and EMS agencies to attend a ceremony in honor of the 18th anniversary of Sept. 11 attacks, at 6 p.m. Sept. 11 at the 9-11 Park, 1055 S. Raccoon Road.
